A Cottage by the Sea

To live in a cottage by the sea. Or even by a lake. Anything with a view like this would be nice. I would probably spend so many hours just staring out my windows or lounging on my porch just watching the view.  So much nicer than my backyard view of the neighbors fence and barking dog. Or my current view of gray cubicle walls. Sometimes you just need to dream to take a mini getaway from daily life. To a cottage by the sea.

The cabinets in my kitchen aren’t bad, but they are not very exciting. Just plain builder grade oak cabinets. Not ugly, but boring.

I’ve been looking at different painted cabinets for inspiration in case I ever get brave enough to paint my own.  I was looking at the tutorial and pictures posted at Our Suburban Cottage and how similar her cabinets are to mine and how they turned out.

What could the after look like? I don’t think I can paint them white unless I change the awful offwhite-whatever-were-they-thinking-white-tile-with-white-grout-never-stays-clean-tile-floor. I could do a tan or beige color. Black wouldn’t work because of the appliances and it needs to match with the next room. I’m thinking of changing the yellow paint on the walls too. So I just continue to dream for now.

Special K special deal

I was so excited. Using the printable Special K coupons along with Target’s sale, I was able to buy 5 boxes of Special K cereal (my favorite) and use 5 printable coupons to buy the cereal for $1.39 each. Then I got a $5 giftcard back for buying 5 boxes, making each box only 0.39. So cool. I love Target.

Spring has Sprung

I love spring. Finally the cold weather has passed, the trees and flowers, are blooming, and I can wear flip-flops again. We spent last weekend planting all over the yard. We planted a pear tree in the front (inspiration for the name of my blog) and a cherry tree in the back. Both the flowering varieties. I also planted azaleas, a lilac bush, hostas, and a few other plants. Grow strong little plants.

This is a close up of the flowers on the trees we already have growing along our house. And here’s one of my furbabies out enjoying the great greenness.

My first post!

So I’ve finally joined the blog revolution and created my own blog. I have so much fun reading other people’s blogs, I decided to have a place in cyberspace for my own ramblings.
